It's 1869. A time when the land was lawless, merely a few years after the Civil War ended, Legacy stands tall over its people. While still considered small, the town is ever growing with the number of settlers that travel here and choose to call it their home. One family in particular has put the town on the map. The Gunner family is said to run the town. They have a positive impact on it and tries their hardest to keep out the lawbreakers and those who wish to destroy it. You can't keep everything safe, however. There's bound to be those who want to uproot this family and take the town as their own, to shatter the peace that has been so hard earned. Afterall, this is the true west. It's rugged, untamed and it's only a matter of time before peace is merely a whisper and all hell breaks loose.

Summer, '69
Just hitting mid-June, it's really starting to warm up. Crops are in full swing, as well as foaling season for the horses. Calving has started on the ranches. The sun beats down on the town of Legacy, drying up any remaining puddles left behind by the Spring showers. Pretty soon the whether will just be downright miserable.
06.29.18 A month into the site, just really getting it going! We're here, stop on in and have a chat! Summer is a busy time of the year for everyone, so it's understandably slow. But come on in, make yourself at home! We're glad to have you!
05.29.18 Welcome to LegacyX! I'm so excited to have you all here, please come on in and take a load off! All links can be found to your left under 'Information'. Don't hesitate to reach out to a staff member if you have any questions, that's what we're here for! Right now there's just little ol' me so we are looking for more staff members. Since we've just opened, expect things to be slow. But know this, we're working on everything!!

Legacy isn't just a site where you'll roleplay cops and robbers old west style. Here at Legacy, you'll get the option of creating a Native American tribe, an outlaw gang, built business or even homesteads. It's interactive and player-friendly towards creativity. While it does follow the Gunner family, you as the player are able to create your own homestead to rival or become allies with Double Bar L. So come on in! Kick up your shoes, and start building your own legacy!
The idea of Legacy was to venture back in time for the Gunner family, a family that's been developing for the past five years for your staff members. Why keep it to ourselves, though, when you can bring your characters' ancestors here and see how they're start in the wild west was achieved and what all they managed to do in their lives! We want you to loosen up, have fun. Focus on character development, relationships and allow that to be your muse through the adventures of your characters!
GANGS. One of the most notable facts about the old west, dating from the late 1700's to the mid-1800's, was that it lacked a solid foundation for laws. There was a boom of outlaws in just the mid-1800's that brought on the Pinkertons (now referred to as the FBI), as well as the Earp boys. Gangs ran rampant, robbing banks, committing crimes such as murder, horse thievery, you name it. It's something we want to bring to Legacy as well. So after you join, you'll be able to either start your own gang, or join one that exists already! Each gang has their own set of rules, so be sure to talk to the gang owner. Wouldn't want to end up on the wrong side of a barrel belonging to a trigger happy outlaw!
You are allowed to have outlaws without a gang. Like Belle Starr. She ran with the James-Younger Gang, along with many others! But keep in mind, if there gets to be an insane amount of outlaws versus citizens, we'll have to crack down on this!
TRIBES. Oh-si-yo! Native Americans are a huge part of our history, and some of us are even part of tribes today! We want to offer the option of hanging neighboring tribes in Legacy. Now a tribe can consist of five members, or it can have twenty, or larger numbers! But please keep in mind and be respectful when creating a tribe. Do your research. Try and stay realistic! "How!" is not a greeting! Just so you know. Yes, movies can be fun, but so can the real shit! Please, do your research!
There's no limit on Native American tribe members, but I will limit the tribes if it gets to be so many tribes with not a lot of members!
HOMESTEADS. YES! So we don't want Double Bar L to be the only ranch in the area. It's just not realistic. Yes, it's a big ranch but surely there are some that will be up and coming, giving DBL and the Gunners a bit of competition! Homesteads are not limited. You may purchase a homestead(board) at any time and start building it! If you want sub-boards, each additional sub-board costs more! Don't worry, you earn money for every post you do. So get to posting!
LAWMEN. Let's be real here. Not every Tom, Dick and Harry were deputies. There is not a vast amount of lawmen out there, if there was then there would be a decline in lawbreakers. Where's the fun in that? If you decide to take on the Sheriff, just be active! You can arrest people for breaking laws. Toss them in jail. Play it out in character! It's fun. Also, bounty hunters were prominent. Granted, they didn't function well in close proximity of others. And they barely followed the law themselves.
SALOON GALS. These are possible! Come on.. Jezebels, as reverends would call them. It's their job to coax men into sinning between their sheets. These are allowed.
BUSINESSES. Yes, you are allowed to own businesses other than Homesteads! Any that are 'open' for owners, you can ask a staff member about claiming! Or just come up with your own!
We are a player/character driven site and want you to make the most of your stay here!
